Made by Hand - Tredegar House, Newport

Set inside and out of the lovely Tredegar House was this years Made by Hand - Contemporary Craft Fair, just off the M4 in Newport, south Wales. I brought with me my new framed scarf print 'Escargatoire' based on slugs which was certainly a talking point amongst many of the visitors to the show. The marque was heated and well lit and the show on the whole was well attended. Only in it's second year Made by Hand will definitely grow into a show with a reputation to precede its self!

Hereford Contemporary Craft Fair 2011

I was lucky to be selected to exhibit work at this years Contemporary Craft Fair at The Courtyard Theatre,  Hereford, which took place 11th to 13th November with a private view on the 10th. This was my first time taking part in this show and I was impressed. There was an excellent selection of high quality diverse work on show where I met some lovely new exhibitors along with talking and selling work to new customers and buyers. The show was well organised and well attended with Friday morning being my busiest period, having the box office take credit/debit card payments for me was a blessing and extra helpful for a new exhibitor. I hope to apply again for next years show and again, like Lustre I had several requests for a line of men's products.

Lustre 2011

Better late than never, I thought I would share with you all some photos from this years Lutre show at the Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham. Again I had a fantastic show this year, it was well organised and it's always great to see so many familiar customer faces returning to the event from previous years. I have taken notes of some requests for men's products and I will start development in January with updates as I go along on here.

What I especially enjoy about the people who come to the show is seeing and speaking to so many keen degree students. Lecturing at the University of Northampton prepares me well for talking (some might say babbling) about my work and it's great to see students so enthusiastic about contemporary craft and practices that they continue their investigation in outside taught time. If only I had enough work placement for you all!

Range of fashion and interior accessories
 Long and Square silk scarves
 Small cotton coin purses
Scarf boxes, medium clutch purses, small coin purses and look book

British Birds in swatches

Sourcing my colour inspiration for my new collection I have been keeping the concept very BRITISH... well why go else where. Surprises are just around the corner and it wasn't until I was developing some palettes over on Colour Lovers that I discovered the range of hues to be found. A magpie isn't just black and white and black birds are a cacophony of browns rather than all black??? Visit my Colour Lovers page to see more.
